What is a Complex Shit ? Artwork on the Paul Klee Centre in Berne
What is a Complex Shit ? ......
A giant inflatable dog turd by American artist Paul McCarthy blew away from an exhibition in the garden of a Swiss museum, bringing down a power line and breaking a greenhouse window before it landed again, the museum said Monday.
The artwork, titled Complex Shit, is the size of a house. The wind carried it 200 metres (yards) from the Paul Klee Centre in Berne before it fell back to Earth in the grounds of a children's home.
The inflatable turd broke the window at the children home when it blew away on the night of July 31st.

Why Should Artist have to Explain Art?
Unexplainable? Regia Marinho's painting.
I agree that explanations are the traitor of art. I don't do it, and so I don't apply for grants.
Yet, there are more and more pressures today on artists to explain themselves.
Serious art defies easy interpretation, and artists should resist the call to explain themselves." Jonathan Jones. [read more, from guardian]

Iphone 3G Line One Week Early (for you and for your wall)
Our man on the street, Wayne Schulz (he’s everywhere) just reported that the lines are beginning to form in front of the Apple Store in New York.
Wayne reports, “According to police the people began lining up this morning. Number one in line is a man and woman with a baby who’ve told the police and security guards that their goal is to set a record for time in line and possibly the first baby to wait with them (or some such nonsense).” [from geardiary.com]

What People Want? Look, Enjoy and Show Off Art
Helena Newman said...
'People's choices are now being driven by image rather than the artist's name. They want to look at their pieces, enjoy them and show them off,'' said Helena Newman, the vice-chairman of Sotheby's Impressionist and Modern Art department.
For most buyers, she added, the estimate price was ''just a starting point.'' [from ndtv.com]
