Sedaka was born in Brooklyn, New York on March 13, 1939. His father, Mac Sedaka, a taxi driver, was the son of Turkish-Jewish immigrants; his mother, Eleanor (Appel) Sedaka, was of Polish-Russian descent.
Neil Sedaka is an American pop singer, pianist, and songwriter often associated with the Brill Building. He teamed up with Howard Greenfield to write many major hit songs for himself and others. Sedaka's voice is in the tenor and alto ranges.

$2.5M Gift to Tampa Museum of Art


A big gift to the Tampa Museum of Art, $2.5 million for its new facility.

Trustee Cornelia Corbett and her husband, Richard Corbett, through their family foundation, the William Stamps Farish Fund, have pledged the largest individual contribution to the capital campaign, the museum said in a release. from Tampa Bay Business Journal

The new Tampa Museum of Art consists of approximately 66,000 square feet and is designed by San Francisco, CA, architect Stanley Saitowitz.
